6 Questions to Yield Guru Team

1)What inspired you to merge public transportation, blockchain technology, and investment opportunities into one innovative platform?

The initial inspiration was the growing prospects of the RWA tokenization opportunity, especially in real estate. Yield Guru was originally mooted as a real estate tokenization project for low - middle income affordable housing projects. These usually have a higher rental yield compared to the high income apartments. 

Further research proved that tokenizing real estate required more capital outlay, and the yield was not as attractive at scale. We then looked at various other high frequency yield opportunities and that is how we arrived at public transport. A public transport bus in Africa generates daily income, with average returns of up to 3% per month.

Thus a good project to tokenize and prove a high yield opportunity with actual utility on the blockchain. 

2)How did your commitment to financial inclusion shape the vision and execution of Yield Guru Investments?

Financial inclusion has often been looked at from the lens of accessible payments, or affordable credit. But we wanted to bring a new lens of investments and sustainable yields in a transparent manner, that introduces a new investment asset accessible to anyone and very affordable. We want to bring accessible investments that have high returns on the blockchain for sustainable passive income.

3)The Kenya Shilling stable coin is a unique offering. How do you ensure its stability and reliability, especially in a volatile crypto environment?

We are working with a partner Mento Labs and using their cKES stablecoin on the platform. The Mento Reserve maintains a diversified portfolio of crypto assets supporting the ability of the Mento Platform to expand and contract the supply of Mento stablecoins. https://reserve.mento.org/ 

4)What specific blockchain technologies or platforms are you leveraging to ensure the transparency and accountability of investments and operations?

Phase 1 of the project is a very simple and basic proof of concept and to gauge interest using a meme coin token on Solana targeting to raise 50,000 - 300,000 USD for pre seed capital.

Phase 2 of the project will leverage the Celo blockchain, leveraging mento labs stable coins and Opera mini apps for distribution. 

Phase 3 - Once we have built MVP and done a proof of concept is to scale the project to a DePIN for a fleet of public transport buses, and a network of electric charging stations for public transport vehicles. The blockchain to use here will be decided then. 

5)Are there plans to increase community involvement, such as investor education programs, public transport user incentives, or environmental awareness campaigns?

Yes. As the project grows and we have the actual MVP live. 

6)Are there any upcoming features or enhancements planned for your blockchain platform to improve the user experience or transparency further?

Priority will be to launch the first fully tokenized electric bus in the world on the Celo blockchain. We will have an airdrop of a few ownership tokens to the meme coin investors who help us reach our pre seed fundraising target, and hold on to the meme coin until launch of the actual yield guru token.
