Mojo ($MOJO) is a monkey-themed meme coin project built on the Ethereum layer-2 network Base. This meme token originated in the first cartoon created by American illustrator Matt Furie. Dubbed Mojo, this monkey was created by the young Furie in 1983, making it older than prominent characters like Pepe and Brett. Today, Mojo is showcased on Furie’s parents’ fridge. Capitalizing on Mojo’s narrative as the original character, $MOJO aims to build a strong community of meme lovers and Furie fans. $MOJO’s creator(s) has renounced their contract ownership, leaving the ecosystem’s growth in the hands of the community. Little wonder, the project’s website beckons everyone to join the community takeover (CTO).
$MOJO has a very long well detailed roadmap. Also, the community-led project upholds the ambitious goal of unlocking new gains and taking $MOJO to incredible heights.
$MOJO has the primary goal of bringing memes and profits to the community. The meme token has also collaborated with Magic Carpet on Base, making $MOJO accessible to more audiences.
$MOJO’s total supply is capped at 1,000,000,000,000 tokens, where 100% are in circulation. These tokens are subjected to zero taxation. In less than two months from inception, $MOJO has recorded 82.09K holders as of August 24th. This metric indicates that investors are heavily interested in the meme coin. At the time of writing, the Base chain meme coin has a market cap of $251.04K, a liquidity of $47.62K, and $7.44K in daily trading volume. $MOJO’s trading price has also significantly surged since its launch, currently sitting at $0.0₆2510, representing a 134% surge in seven days.
The Base meme coin has over 2.79K followers on X. It also has a combined 1.01K community members across Telegram, TikTok, and Instagram.
1)What inspired you to revive Mojo and make it the centerpiece of your project? Was there a particular moment or idea that sparked the vision to bring Mojo back and lead a community-driven movement? Mojo is the first documented drawing that Matt Furie, the creator of Pepe, ever made, and almost no one know until now. In the world of crypto, the original always holds the highest value. Think Cryptopunks, Ethereum, Bitcoin. The "first" always gets the spotlight, while subsequent creations are often viewed as "derivatives." Mojo is that original. The character that sparked Matt Furie’s entire creative journey. The first artwork in the portfolio of one of the greatest meme creators of all time. All of Matt Furies other work stems from this one little monkey! How could i not want to get onboard on such a golden ticker.... it was a no brainer to me. 2)You describe Mojo as the original figure, with $PEPE following in its footsteps. Can you delve into the history of Mojo and how it influenced or predated the emergence of $PEPE? What inspired you to bring Mojo to the forefront now? In summary, while Mojo is recognized and mentioned in specific circles for its historical and cultural significance in Matt Furie's art, especially in digital and crypto art communities, it doesn't appear to have been directly highlighted in his more traditional artistic outputs. Pepe was created after Mojo and is one of the greatest meme coin the world have ever seen. Its time the world sees Mojo being up there at the topp also. As the first narrative is my inspiration. 3)How do you see Mojo as a cultural icon within the crypto world? Are there particular aspects of Matt Furie’s work that you’ve drawn inspiration from in shaping Mojo’s identity and community? The term "cultural Mojo icon" isn't directly recognized in the crypto world as a specific entity or icon like Bitcoin or Ethereum, but if we interpret this in the context of cultural impact or symbols within cryptocurrency culture, here's how it might be perceived: Meme Cultural and Icons: The crypto community, especially on platforms like X (formerly Twitter), has a strong affinity for memes and cultural icons. Icons like Pepe the Frog, which started as an internet meme, have been transformed into cryptocurrencies (like Pepe Coin) or NFTs, indicating how cultural symbols can gain traction within the crypto space. If "cultural mojo icon" refers to something akin to this phenomenon, it would be seen as a representation of the community's playful yet speculative nature, where cultural references can quickly turn into investment opportunities or community rallying points. I personally really like that Mojo was made in the 80s and this is something that I really burn for as I myself was born in the 80s. Back to Future 1985 4) What have been some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced so far with the Mojo project, and how have you overcome them? To be the leading force and guide the followers is a massive task and 24/7 jobb. Starting from zero building all platforms has been a challenge. I gained trust from the community fast as everything I told them we did. I am very driven and successful and the chart speaks for itself that the driving force and knowledge is strong. 5)Where do you see Mojo in the next year? Are there any exciting developments or milestones that the community should be looking forward to? Mojo will be at the stars 100% Mojo has a liquidity pool established on the Pawchain network of which mints tokens on the other 5 Blockchains so when a token is swapped it doesn’t increase the supply but migrates it to that network making it represent the total coin supply and market cap across all chains. So we are multichain and can be bought with 7 other currencies. This is unique and we are the first on Base to be this. We also are now being listed temporarily at binance for a voting program and have some % chance to be listed.
